Free Leadership and Personal Development  1 Hour Sessions with happy

On Thursday 15th May, Happy will be hosting a range of free, one-hour sessions at our HQ in Aldgate, London.

This event will give you the opportunity to look around our training centre, meet the team, and learn more about what we offer — as well as experience our interactive learning style. We are offering a range of sessions covering digital skills, leadership and personal development programmes.

About the sessions

Each session is intended to give you a bitesize look at a topic, and to give you a feel for our interactive and engaging facilitation style. If you enjoy your taster session, you can then go on to book the full workshop, either on our schedule if we have dates available or as a private inhouse session if you have a team of people interested.

All workshops are ticketed. Please RSVP at the bottom of the page for the sessions you'd like to attend.

We are also offering lunch to everyone attending. Lunch is served 1pm to 1:45pm — we will offer a choice of three cold bowl dishes. Make sure to select this option if you'd like to join us for lunch so we can make sure there is a meal ready for you. We will email you a week before with the different lunch options to choose from.

In the afternoon (from 4pm), we will be hosting networking drinks. There will be a range of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as nibbles. It would be helpful to know in advance if you would like to join us.

You will receive your joining instructions after booking your place, but please contact our Account Management team if you haven't received these within 1 hour of booking, or if you have any questions.

Leadership and Personal Development Sessions

Happy's leadership sessions aim to help you create happy, productive workplaces based on trusting your people.

1. Happy Leadership Programme

15th May at 10am

Are you motivated to create a great place to work where your team members are fully engaged and driven to provide excellence to their colleagues and customers? Do you want to create a workplace of positive collaboration, where each individual is prepared to innovate to solve the challenges of your organisation, but you aren’t sure how to go about it?

This session is a taster of the powerful changes that our Happy Leadership Programme enables.

Be challenged and learn:

  • When people work at their best
  • Understand how to get the most from your people
  • Discover the most important behaviours of managers
  • The cornerstone to coaching

2. Coaching Fundamentals

15th May at 11.30am

What is coaching? Simply put, coaching is about creating and holding space for another person to do their best thinking. It is all about allowing individuals to explore their thoughts and find their own solutions to challenges they are facing.

In this one-hour introductory session you will discover:

  • How coaching can enhance your impact as a leader and boost effectiveness of your team
  • What research shows are benefits of coaching
  • The difference between coaching and mentoring and which to use depending on the situation
  • How coaching skills can be used on the job
  • How to actively listen to build stronger working relationships
  • The further coaching development workshops that Happy offer

3. Brave Leadership Programme for Women

15th May at 1.30pm

Join us for an inspirational look at female leadership and discover more about our one-year Brave Leadership programme.

According to a Harvard study into leadership, more women were rated as better overall leaders than their male counterparts. And yet, women are still vastly underrepresented in more senior positions.

In this taster session we will be exploring what assertive leadership looks like and what this means from a woman's perspective.

During this session, you will look at:

  • What are your choices as an assertive leader?
  • Who inspires you and what can you learn from them?
  • Identify an attitude you would like to be known for and what this might look like in practice
  • Share thoughts and ideas with a group of motivated women
  • Find out how the programme could help you inspire, empower, challenge and innovate in your own authentic way

4. Building Self-Confidence

15th May at 3pm

Having self-confidence can positively impact every area of our lives, and many of us would like to have more.

In this one-hour taster session, taken from our full-day course, we will explore what self-confidence is, acknowledge how it is already part of our lives, and discover actionable tips to deal with nerves.

5. The Secrets of a Great Workplace: How can we help?

15th May at 10am and 1.30pm

Changing your organisation's principles and values to ones based on trust and empowerment can be a huge culture shift for your people, particularly for larger and more traditional organisations.

For leaders, this can sometimes be a lonely and difficult time. That's where Happy's consultancy services come in.

We can help you to maintain the areas of your organisation's culture that are working and support you to achieve real change in areas that aren't. We can support you with where to start and where to go next, working as your 'thinking partner' and giving you the space to reflect and work out where you'd like your organisation to go.

Key themes to be covered:

  • What creates a great workplace?
  • What are you already getting right?
  • Where could you be doing more?
  • If Happy could support you to create more joy at work, what would you want from us?

6. Developing your Learning Culture

15th May at 1.30pm

Establishing a rich learning culture can lead to better employee engagement, innovation, and all-round improved performance – but how do you do it?

This facilitated workshop will get participants sharing current practices and exploring new ideas on how to develop a great learning culture.

7. Liberating Structures

15th May at 11.30am

Liberating Structures is a repertoire of over 30 methods to make your activities fully inclusive and more effective. All have been widely tested and are focused on results. They work in live meetings and for online events.

In this session, you will learn about the underlying principles of Liberating Structures and will experience a selection of these methods.

It’s perfect if you have never used Liberating Structures before and would like to learn more, or if you have used them before and would like to see how they work.
