Simon Fowler has a job role that's key in making sure that their employees are heard by the board members within the company. John Lewis has an ethos of ensuring his employees are more happy within their company than any other company, to help the business flourish.
The company John Lewis feels that money shouldn't be the drive when it comes to companies, but instead it should be around how to help the greater good and the community around you. The profit from the company is give back out to the employees, as they help with the success of the business.
