Infographics provide a striking and engaging way to communicate relevant information clearly and quickly in a visual way. If you would like to present/share a visual representation of information that provides your audience with an easy-to-understand overview of a particular topic, then Infographics are for you.

Course Overview

Requirements

There are two versions of Canva – paid (pro) and free. This course can be attended by people who have either account. While Canva can be accessed on both desktop and mobile, for this course learners will need to access it on desktop as this has all features available.

Learners must set up their account before the session begins.

Canva is an application that can be used to make social media posts look more professional. Using Canva you can engage your audience with infographics that will help them to remember and understand the information that you need to convey. For example, infographics can be used to provide a quick overview of a complex subject, to explain a complex process, to report the results of a survey, to provide awareness around a particular subject.

What you will learn

During this 90-minute session you will learn:

  • What is an infographic? Why use infographics?
  • What makes an infographic design effective?
  • How do I create an infographic in Canva? (Creating from a template or a blank canvas, editing a template, using elements, downloading your design, sharing your design and publishing your design)

The Small Print

The course will run remotely for 90 minutes. 

All learners will need to install Zoom on their machines. Full technical requirements are on the Zoom website. Your link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven't received this email then please contact our team.

Learners should log into the training session 10 minutes before the start time to ensure that they have downloaded and set up Zoom correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals.

Your active participation is expected: everyone will be heard and seen throughout, just as they would be if we were in a room together. To be heard, hear and seen you will need a microphone, speakers and camera – if you have a modern laptop that’s all you will need. Remember, you’ll need a quiet place to call from and a decent internet connection is a must.
