Canva Whiteboard 2 Hour Online Course

With the demise of Jamboard, you may be looking for an alternative — we recommend using Canva Whiteboard.

Canva is intuitive and easy-to-use. You can create professional Whiteboards that you can easily share with colleagues or during an online meeting. Even better, the people you share it with don't need a Canva account to access and edit your Whiteboard.

Course Overview

Requirements

There are two versions of Canva — paid (pro) and free. This course can be attended by people who have either account. While Canva can be accessed on both desktop and mobile, for this course learners will need to access it on desktop as this has all features available.

Learners will need to set up an account in Canva before the session to be able to create a whiteboard. However no previous experience using Canva is needed for this intro session.

The benefits

Canva is an intuitive, easy-to-use design software. You can use Canva to design a multitude of things - anything from social media posts to presentations to websites.

You can use Canva to create professional-looking Whiteboards that you can easily share with colleagues or during an online meeting. Canva's Whiteboards are a great alternative to Google's Jamboard, which is due to be discontinued at the end of 2024.

The people you share it with don't need a Canva account to access it - anyone with the link can edit without logging in if they access it from a desktop browser. You'll see them as a 'guest'. On mobile, they'll need to log in or sign up to edit.

What you will learn

By the end of this two-hour session, you will be able to:

  • Create a Whiteboard in Canva
  • Add elements (such as text, a logo or images) to your Whiteboard and lock them into place (so they can't be accidentally moved)
  • Understand the various sharing elements in Canva

Course timetable

  • Intro to Canva's homepage
  • Accessing a shared Whiteboard
  • Adding Sticky Notes
  • Adding and editing text
  • Adding new pages
  • Naming and Saving
  • Adding other elements
  • Locking elements
  • Sharing your whiteboard
  • If there's time — Following in a Whiteboard, saving a Whiteboard as a brand template (Pro feature only), resizing a Whiteboard.

As well as this two-hour session, we offer these courses:

  • Canva 1 Day Course — Explore Canva's other features, such as setting up a brand kit and creating social media designs.

The Small Print

For Live Online Interactive Learning sessions (webinars)

The course will run remotely for a two-hour Live Online session. Please reserve at least a full two hours in your diary for this session.

All learners will need to either install Zoom on their machines or use the Web App in a browser (either Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are supported). Your link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven't received this email then please contact our team.

Learners should log into the training session 10 minutes before the start time to ensure that they have downloaded and set up Zoom correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals.

Your active participation is expected: everyone will be heard and seen throughout, just as they would be if we were in a room together. To be heard, hear and seen you will need a microphone, speakers and camera – if you have a modern laptop that’s all you will need. Remember, you’ll need a quiet place to call from and a decent internet connection is a must.

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking for our payment terms and cancellation policy.

For classroom sessions

The course will run for two hours. Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and refreshments.

The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 15 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions before booking for our payment terms and cancellation policy.
