Introduction to PowerPoint 1 Day Training Course
This beginner level one-day course will leave you feeling confident in using the essential features of PowerPoint to create and alter simple presentation slides.
It’s perfect if you have never used PowerPoint before, or if you haven’t used PowerPoint in a long time and are feeling a bit rusty.
This course is only available for private bookings, either for groups or as a one-to-one, held online via Zoom or in the classroom. Please get in touch for availability.

Course Overview
This Introduction to PowerPoint course can be held either in the classroom or online as Live Online Learning. The outline for both formats is the same, however the classroom session offers more time with the trainer to work on exercises, ask questions and complete activities.

What you will learn
By the end of this beginner one-day PowerPoint course, you will be able to:
- Create and save a new presentation.
- View your presentation in different ways.
- View the master slide and make changes that are reflected throughout the entire presentation.
- Change the background colour and colour scheme for an existing template.
- Add pictures to your presentation.
- Use the drawing tools to add shapes or to create your own pictures.
- Enhance your presentation by adding special effects to your slides, text and pictures.
Course Timetable
Session 1: Setting up a Basic Presentation
If you want to create a basic presentation with slides, add text and speaker’s notes to each slide, then this session can help you. You will also learn how to move around your presentation using some of the different views.

Session 2: Modify the Design
You can change the look of your slides using a standard Master Slide, for example, change a bullet list, logo or colour on the Master Slide and it will appear on all the slides in the presentation.

Session 3: Images & Screen Show
This session will show you how to add images and SmartArt to your slide. You will also learn how to run your presentation whilst adding a hyperlink to your website and appropriate animation and pleasing transitions.

Information for Mac users
If you are a Mac user, please let us know when booking. If the course is held in the classroom at Happy, the training is held on PCs so we recommend that you bring your Macbook with you (we are not able to provide an additional monitor). For online training, please let us know when booking and you can use your Mac as normal. We provide a PDF with shortcuts for Mac users and your trainer will refer to this throughout the training.

For Live Online Interactive Learning sessions (webinars)
The course will run remotely for a full day consisting of three 90-minute live online sessions with independent work in between.
All learners will need to install Zoom on their machines. Full technical requirements are on the Zoom website. Your link will be included in your joining instructions once you have booked your place — if you haven't received this email then please contact our team.
Learners should log into the training session 10 minutes before the start time to ensure that they have downloaded and set up Zoom correctly. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals.

For classroom sessions
All public classroom sessions take place at Happy's HQ in London at Robert Dolan House, 9 Alie Street, London E1 8DE. Please see our Contact Us page for full directions and a PDF map.
The course will run from 10am to 4:45pm (lunch is served 1pm to 1:45pm — we offer a choice of 3 cold bowl dishes). Please be careful to arrive by 9:45am for registration and refreshments. The course will start precisely on time and it may not be possible to go back over material missed by late arrivals. If you arrive over 30 minutes late you may be asked to leave and attend another day.
